The High Holidays are a time of new beginnings and hopes. And while it's a season of renewal, the holidays are also a time of introspection, where Jews worldwide strive to improve their actions for the coming year. Part of this concept includes increasing good deeds and reaching out to help others.
We all know that the last two years have been especially difficult. With skyrocketing costs of living plus additional new challenges caused by a harsh war, thousands of families, including many who were previously stable, are struggling day after day, week after week to put food on the table. For them, the High Holidays have become a time of great anxiety.
Needy parents know that the average family will enjoy festive foods and a festive atmosphere over the chagim, and they wish for the same. But due to circumstances beyond their control, they find themselves at a loss - unable to afford foods that make the holidays so special.
As one of the most effective Jewish charities in Israel we recognize the great need that exists in homes like these throughout the country and we strive to allay it with our donors' help. We also recognize that this time period affords the perfect opportunity to start the year off on an auspicious note.
Your donation to Yad Eliezer | B'ezri's High Holiday Campaign will help us transform Yom Tov for so many families, enabling us to provide them with financial support so they can purchase exactly what they want - what their families enjoy - for the holidays, a positive and dignified way to begin the New Year.
FEED A BABY
Give impoverished families one less thing for their babies to cry about.
A cranky baby can usually be rocked to sleep, and an uncomfortable baby’s position or nappy can be changed. But how do you bring relief to a hungry baby who can’t nurse, and whose parents can’t afford baby formula?
Yad Eliezer's unique partnership with Materna, Israel's leading baby formula manufacturer, allows the organisation to feed hungry infants in their first 12-15 months for just A$1.50 a day (half of what formula costs in stores), thereby preventing serious malnutrition-related issues down the line. Your contribution also brings relief to concerned parents who just want the best for their babies.
BACK TO SCHOOL CAMPAIGN
Help a needy child go back to school prepared
New school supplies may seem like simple items, but having them—or not having them—significantly affects the emotional well-being of a needy child; especially a child whose parents are already struggling to pay for basics at home. When kids watch their peers happily unload brand new backpacks full of crisp, clean notebooks and sharp pencils while they unpack hand-me-down school supplies from a worn bag, their self esteem plummets as their embarrassment soars. Their education suffers. Without proper supplies, kids aren’t prepared and don’t complete assignments, causing them to feel isolated and ashamed as their grades and skills steadily decline.
You can prevent this from happening by contributing to Yad Eliezer | B'ezri’s Back to School Campaign. Your support will help us distribute over 1500 school supply packages with all the basics (including new pencils, pens, notebooks, markers and other necessities) to families in southern and northern communities hit hard by this difficult economy and ongoing war.
The assistance makes an enormous difference. It relieves one of the heavy burdens struggling parents are shouldering, and empowers children to enter the classroom on their first day, not only physically prepared - but emotionally, too, feeling proud and motivated.
In this economy, when the costs of so many daily needs have risen and income challenges due to the war add to the difficulty of purchasing new school supplies, we can bring critical relief for struggling parents in time for the school year.

This year, celebrate Purim with Yad Eliezer! Send our cheerful cards to your friends and relatives in lieu of mishloach manot, and help needy families in Israel celebrate Purim at the same time!
Cards are available in English and Hebrew and come with envelopes.
